Black smoke means unburned fuel, running too rich.
This should be corrected asap because you can destroy your catalytic converter, and then you have TWO problems to fix.
Cause? Could be so many things. Most likely, an ignition issue or tune up issue.

probible need a tune up. exp. clean fuel intectors,new spark plugs + wires stuff like that. if it was blue smoke then you should worry because it would mean fried piston rings
