Not knowing your exact team makeup, ie number of SP number of Closers or whether the league is Head to Head or rotissiere, I can't be certain. However of those listed Saito is the best choice strictly on ability. A good closer who should have the job for awhile makes him a worthwhile add. If by some chance your league counts holds as well as saves, Zumaya would be the top choice. If you need a SP more, I'm not particularly impressed with those you listed. Shields might be OK, but is Scott Olsen of the Marlins available? I imagine Josh Johnson also of Florida is gone, but I'd rank Olsen ahead of any of the guys you named, and fellow Marlin Ricky Nolasco might also be as good or better choice than Shields. Another option is Cole Hamels. He's been shaky last couple of starts, but I think he'll turn it around and be a very good fantasy SP. In fact I'd add Olsen, Saito, and Hamels if all were available. Do you have any bench hitters you can drop? The bench isn't very important in most fantasy leagues. I'm in first or contending in some leagues with no extra hitters.

Take Moises Alou. He has a .301 career average with a .319 average this season, as well as 9 home runs so far (one less than Bonds). He's a pretty good fielder as well. I'd pick a fielder versus a pitcher because they have more consistency, although Chacin and Jannsen are pretty good for the Jays.

Too bad Jered Weaver's going back to Triple-A. His first start was great.

First off Jered Weaver could end up back in the big leagues soon. Just something to remember. Zumaya is in the mix to become the full time closer with Todd Jones being shaky lately. If you are in need of K's & W's though I would go with Hernandez. He's on a good offensive team now and he has a good K/9 ratio. Expect his win total to go up.

Pick up Chacin(stash him on your DL.)

Too bad you don't have a farm team where you could drop Weaver back onto. That's what I would do if I had him in my KEEPER league.
