Lack of communication. Too often people dont say what they really feel, and hold things in b/c they think it may hurt the other person, when in fact, by not talking about something only builds walls between a couple. We choose to see people as we want to see them, and then when that person turns out not to meet as we created them in our minds, we are left feeling disappointed, betrayed, and hurt.

I feel that the common reason is when the feeling of compromise has left. Since marriage is a mutual love and understanding for each other, when that action of meeting each other in the middle and the bending of one direction to the other is over, the couple feels that the other one no longer cares or wants to try.

I think it's abuse, but as you can see by the following, not everyone agrees on what it is. I found more sites supporting money as the leading cause.
Barnes has seen various divorce cases. The most common cause of divorce has been the use of Internet. About once a week, Barnes has seen a case where their spouse is involved in Internet pornography.

Infidelity is the leading cause of divorce and the next most common cause is psychological abuse and physical violence, which frequently has to do with infidelity.

Domestic violence is the most common cause of divorce.

It's hardly headline news that money troubles are the most common cause of divorce in America.

The Most Common reason for divorce is the fact they cant cope with each others differnces. and if you cant cope you cant get along and if you cant get along then you will probably argue everytime about little things even. and what these other people have put it is all that in a one big *** package.

Insecurity - Rush to Judgment - Inability to Forgive.
Life is short.
We all make mistakes.
Ego often makes us believe that the sun rises and sets because of us...... not always so in the eyes of our mates.
We must accept each other as we are and choose only to uplift each other in a marriage.
It takes two people to form an argument. It takes one person to walk away.

People have lost respect and an appreciation of the sacredness of marriage. When you take God out of anything, what is left is human being's futile attempt to hold it together.
Even church members fall into this trap of reducing marriage to a socail contract, hence the frequency of divorce.
How tragic.

i think one of the main reasons for divorce,, no communication between each other, and couples get in a rut and forget to keep the romance in a marriage.

When my parents divorced it was because of, ultimately, a lack of communication, and I think that is true of most marriages.

unfaithful partners. women tend to make less income than men, so when they are unhappy, they don't think they can support their lifestyle on their own, they have a tendency to hook up with someone they think will provide for them before they give their husband the shove. usually they get fooled but they seem to never learn a lesson. men tend to not want to do without the sex for very long so they usually get a standby before they give their wife the boot.
