Because most americans only care about themselves and they think that they way they are is right and if someone else is different they are wrong or untrustworthy. One of my friends once told me, "I fell in love with the person, not their sex, race, religion, or wealth."

There can be several answers depending on what angle your question is coming from. It's not an easy answer in any light.
In today's society many areas are being attacked and pushed to be "right" or "wrong". Sexual preference is one of the most popular categories along with religion. Most of the people who are overly concerned with somebody's sexual preference are the straight, extreme-right folks who are quite afraid of and/or offended by gays. Others may want to know just to be certain of who they are hanging with. Often times those who are not comfortable with their own preference will be the ones to really cause trouble.
Then you have the few who are comfortable and don't really care if you are gay, straight, bi, bi-curious, trans, pre- or post-op. I would be in that one. :)

First, it is not a preference or a choice.To imply it is a preference suggests that we prefer to be gay but could easily choose to be straight or vice versus.A preference means you choose something because you like it over something else.Like Chocolate over vanilla.I don't know about you but I never sat down and decided on what I prefer.I just am what I am.Second, to answer your question, I don't know why people don't just focus on their own sexual lives and relationships.Maybe they have no life or they are afraid that maybe they are really gay....Who knows.....

I think people are so concerned because juse like noisey people other people's life is intresting to other's. Its like when woman mess with there best friends man because they heard about the good stuff that they not getting thats people love other poeple drama thats why reality tv is good money and ratings.

i really do not know, there is so much more to know about a person, sexual pref would be the least interesting thing you you could ask! unless that is you fancy them!

Because it is so much easier to try to solve everyone elses "problems" than to look deep inside yourself and deal with your own issues.
