I like the Lord of the rings books very much. I read them about 25 yrs ago and I was very impressed by the author's imagination and talent. He created an imaginary world so complete and complex that it is as it were real. When the movies came out I went to see them, and even if I can not deny that the films are excellent, the books are much better.

I like the movies! And I've only read the first book. I liked the book except that it's a slow read. You tend to read for a while and then realized you don't know what you just read and then you have to go back over and over again.

But yea the movies were good and I think they were well done, though I probably shouldnt talk since I havn't read all the books. But yea the special affects and everything were awesome. And the landscape. And the Shire is soooo pretty! I wanna go!

And yea of course Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, and Viggo Mortenson are HOT!

I think it's fascinating that Tolkein created this whole other world for readers, but not for me. I'm not a fantasy/sci-fi reader. That doesn't take away how great I'm sure they are.

i loved them. The story line was well organized and spread out just so you had to buy the next version to see where it went.
