Driving across Texas, she gets tired and checks into a hotel. She showers, leaves the hotel, and eats dinner. When she returns to her room, a hispanic man knocks on the door and says, “Your very beautiful” and he’s crepy so she slams the door on his face and continues to get ready to sleep. Then another guy knocks on the door and she ignores it and he starts to say she’s beautiful too … She gets asleep and then the phone rings at 2:00 AM and a black man’s voice says, “Let's get it on baby….” and she hangs up quickly-then an Indonesian guy is at the door saying “I've got something to make you feel good “.
Then when she call’s 911, the operator treats her like she’s a prostitute too and only after she tells the 911 operator shes from out of state, operator agrees to send the police - meanwhile, the phone keeps ringing and men keep knocking for 4 hours until the cops show up-then the cop’s accuse her of being a prostitute- What is she to do?
True story, I'm not liking Texas!

Clothing was a white skirt that covered the knees and a black blouse with long sleves and modest neck line ... worn to church many a times ...

Hotel wasn't the "Ritz" but it wasn't slezzy either ... unless Texans think $60.00 night is a place for prositutes.

Quit going to cheap motels. I had a slightly different experience in a Texas dive... room didn't even have a phone and the window was open to an alley, late that night I herd a pimp beating his ho. Fortunately I looked like a drug dealer and everyone left me alone. I've never stayed in that type of hotel since.
If your driving as a female make sure your car is very reliable, take mace, and anything else legal to defend yourself. there are also door stops and alarms that can give you extra protection if someone tries to force there way into your room... and never, ever answer the door - call the manager immediately, and let them know your being harassed.
As for Texas cops, there all inbreed and that's why there so stupid.

Maybe it was a sleazy hotel. If that many men were coming to the door, then I would say that a prostitute was doing business out of that room. And, $60.00/night isn't that much if there is that much business. My question to you is: Why didn't the woman leave the room and ask for another one after the first or second man came to the door? I wouldn't be that tired!!!

Is the hotel you checked into one of the ones that rents rooms by the hour? If so... that was your first clue to not rent a room there. I have yet to meet a cop that is going to accuse anyone of prostitution without cause, (thats just a great way of getting into trouble) Call the non-emergency number for the precienct and ask to speak to the LT and as long as you have badge numbers you can report their unprofessionalism.

I am sorry this happened to you. I'm not going to try to figure out why it happened. I have lived in Texas and the police response does not surprise me. Texans do not like outsiders and they can be openly hostile. I have had several surreal experiences with Texans. Keep moving, Texas has a lot of very ignorant people.

Where did you hear this? C'mon, after the first knock I would have hit 911 and had the state police all over this guy. No one in there right mind would let a situation get that far.

You should have made your next call to a good lawyer, 4 hours to get the police dept.? Manager on the desk couldn't stop the men from coming to your door? Babygirl buy a gun, next time you open the door let it say hello.

I would have gotten back into my car and drove as fast as the law allows until I reached the state line and I'd never think of spending another night in texas

I think I shall stay away from Texas and stay in Wisconsin. For a state that touts it's hospitality on it's commercials...I think I'll pass on the Lone Star State.

um? Im not even sure to believe you. I guess I would tap into those texan cops's sense of pride and flatter them and act all scared and in need of a big, manly protecter. then once the situation was resolved i'd show em my tough side- give 'em an earful and file a hefty complaint! And call their boss, and his/her boss's boss, and his/her boss's boss...
