I have been reading for a couple of days. My eyes feel tire and blur when continued reading. I try to rest my eyes a little by sleeping. Are there anyways to relax the eyes other than sleeping? What are some foods that will help the eyes?

Every 15 minutes or so, look away from the book and focus on something far away for about 30 seconds. Our eyes are normally "binocular", and when we read, they become "monocular", focusing on one close thing.

Also, try this: Rub your hands together until they're warm. "Palm" your eyes--that is, place your hands over your eyes, but don't put pressure on them. Then imagine you're looking at something far, far away; you'll feel the focus changing in your eyes, while the heat will help relax the muscles around them.

Quite frankly, I feel sorry for all the dog's at your Uncle's house since he is a very irresponsible dog owner. He obviously has too many dogs and can't properly care for any of them. That being sad, it would be nice for Gavin if he could have even a few months or a year or two of a quality life with someone who would love and care for him at the end of his days. It doesn't sound as though he's ever known a kindness from people - what a miserable life. Perhaps a breed rescue would be willing to take him and give him a loving home for as long as he has left on this earth. I'd like to think that when he crosses Rainbow Bridge, he will know that some people are good. You know all too well that this dog is being put down because he is a nuisance to your uncle and for no other reason. Please try to find a place for him and don't let them dispose of him like yesterday's garbage.

Something that helped me when I was studying was to look up from the page every 10 or 15 Minutes and focus on something in the distance.

Also make sure that you have an adequate light source.

If your eyes continue to tire easily then you should go to the eye doctor and make sure everything is okay. Your eyes are too precious not to take care of.

Doctor may recommend something as simple as eye drops?

I don't know of any ways to do that other than resting. It is recommended that you rest your eyes at least every 30 minutes by looking at something as far away as possible. Also, you might benefit from taking a daily multivitamin. See an optometrist if your problem gets much worse, because it could be an early indication of a serious problem.

For starters, rest your eyes by looking at something at a distance at 15 minute intervals. In the mean time, make an appointment to have your eyes checked by an optometrist. Sorry to say it will only get worse as you get older.

A warm, wet washcloth over closed eyes makes them feel so much better. An eye doctor gave me this tip. Carrots are the best vegetables for eye health.

Wash your eyes with cold water every two/three hours in a day.

Full a glass with cold water upto the edge. Try to open and close ur both of eyes one by one in that water. Again every four/five hours

Follow this strictly in ur daily schedule.

Thanks.

Sounds like a strain on your eyes. You either need glasses or contacts or have to update the ones you have. See an eye doctor.
