I have a daughter, and parenting is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
In fact, I am getting myself permenantly sterilized because parenting is so unfufilling. I love my daughter and I take damned good care of her, but this is IT. I want my freedom!
So, yes a woman can feel fufilled in other ways.
career
travel
financial stability
pets
other people's children (you can give them back!)
quiet
...I could go on

I never had children & I'm doing just fine. Not all women were meant to have children. Not all of us have that maternal instinct.

I have never had and but I also have never had the desire to have any.
I would hate to have kids. I love my life as it is and can not imagine having kids to take care of.
