I am trying out for the Sound of Music in a little less than a month. I have been told by several people NOT to do something from the actual play, so I thought I'd do something from another Rodgers and Hammerstein play - The King and I. I've decided to sing "I Whistle a Happy Tune" but I still need a monologue to practice. It would be helpful if someone could direct me to a site where it's all written out so I could start practicing. I desperately want to be in the Sound of Music - it's my all time favorite play, musical or otherwise. I really want to do a great job - can anyone help me find what I need?

Try the public library. They carry scripts and printed music/lyrics from top shows like "The King and I." I think the song you chose is a good one, especially if you're vying for the lead as Maria in "Sound of Music."
