They drink the nectar, but it is the yellow pollen that they go to the flowers to collect and this pollen is stored on their hind legs.

the pollen attaches to the fine hairs on there legs... then they fly to the nest and turn it into nectar.

they attach it to there hind legs as they gather it, then it is taken to the hive and stored in wax honey combs for the unborn larva.
