are points important??? really are they??? I don't get it...am I missing something about the points??

They say that because they found the question stupid or they're too stupid to answer the question.
And, yes, the points are important to them and their petty lives.

Cause the question is a free 2 points. No real answer required. And the points get you to higher levels so you can answer more, ask more etc.

By pretending to answer the question, they receive 2 points. They are ripping off the system, because they didn't answer anything. In some cases, they feel justified because the question is worthless and has no real answer anyway.

easy 2 points instead of giving a detailed answer. Some enjoy giving detailed answers and others could careless so instead of leaving it blank they put thanks for 2 points cause that is what they are getting for just typing something.
