Does anyone else think that the refs in the US/Italy game were terrible!

That was hands down the worst officiating I have seen in any sport. Even the Pittsburgh/ Indy AFC championship game (or the Superbowl... take your pick) was better officiated that this fiasco. How can you give one guy a red card for purposefully elbowing someone and then give the USA player a red card for a slightly late tackle?!?!?! That referee was smoking shrooms before the game if you ask me.

Absolutely the worst ref in the world cup so far. The red cards given to American team wasn't fair even though I was rooting for Italy. I'm American by the way.

I'm siding with the ref. 2 footed challenge by the 1st American player to be sent off was both dangerous and reckless. 2 yellow cards mean a red card, so there's no excuse for Pope. I know it was a difficult game to watch, not just for Americans but for us neutral fans as well...

Worst officals i have ever seen! The elbow to the face deserved the red card but the other two reds on the us were simple fouls!! I hope FIFA learns there lesson and and fires this ref! Awful

USA soccer?
That's an oxymoron. No matter what the refs did.

Yeah. Once he set the standard he had to stick to it. The Italian deserved to be sent off though and I hope he gets a severe ban because that was out of order
