I thought south africa was next?

South Africa is next in 2010. Basically, a few countries make bids based on support from their own governments and continent. These bids are judged by a FIFA committee which decide based on facilities, overall national involvement, etc.

it is first of all by location, in 2006 it should have been in south africa but germany stole the spot so south africa was moved to 2010, then they decide by votation, the presidents of the FIFA goes to the country and they evaluate, stadiums, hotels, transportation etc

by a draw and how much the country can afford hosting it. i wish it were in brazil so they win on their land but it'll be in South Africa
