I have a couple of workstations like that where I work. They are used in autocad and 3-D rendering for engineering drawings. The calculation power and graphics are awesome. There are a lot more powerful and pricy ones out there, but the ones I work with get the job done. Wish I could afford a SGI machine; you can easily drop over 30 grand for one of those.

You don't need to pay $6,000.00 for a computer. That is way too much for a computer.

I am confused by your question....Does the computer cost 6000.00 or are you paying for data? I would not pay 6000.00 for a computer..No...I wouldnt even pay that much for a good used car.....Now..It sounds to me that you are paying for FBI data...which is illegal...Ive never heard of a computer costing that much money,,,,Not a personal computer anyway.
