It would really be a good idea to have a shower chair in the shower so you can sit down. a hand sprayer is essential as is a plastic bag to cover the cast. Also, you might pick a foam soap that doesn't take as much time, water or effort to rinse. A partner on hand to help you out can't hurt and will make it safer.

Been there, done that! Depends where your cast is, arms are easier than legs.
You put your cast in a plastic bag and tape it on with waterproof sticky plaster; remember to get one of those non-slip bath mats and try to have a mate on hand in case of accidents, its easy to slip. You could make the fracture worse.
You could also try one of those shower attatchments you put on the taps. Most of the time you'll just give yourself a wash down, the day you take the plaster off and can soak is bliss.

Cover the cast in a plastic bag sealed tightly and don't get the cast wet. Depending on the body part hold it out of the water.

thats the only way, to have someone with a sponge give you a bath (after you have covered the area of cast with a bag or something) so they can 'jump over' the area and it not becoming wet,
but you will not be able to have a bath till the cast is off.

Use plastic grocery sacks and strong rubber bands. Cut the end out of the bag to go over the fracture. Then wrap rubber bands or elastic strips around the ends of the bag to keep water out.
It is not the end of the world if it gets a little wet. It will dry out fast.

It depends.. What exactly is broken? if its an arm just a sponge and bucket keep broken arm elevated and just use your other arm. if its a leg make sure the leg that is broken is out of tub and just wash the rest. Trust me I've done it when i broke my leg.
