My homeowners' association wants it to match our brick or trim, but the box says Dangerous, Electrical Shock Possible. What kind of paint should be used and is it legal to paint this box? Is there a builder out there that knows? Houston, TX, and Centerpoint Energy is my provider.

Maybe you should ask your energy provider.... and they may guide you on what paint to buy if it is permitted.

I think it would be fine to paint the cover with metal paint, but check with your electric company first.
