I originally thought this might extend into the religion & spirituality topic, but i'm refering to the psycological term.

After reading the previous responses and smart-*** remarks, I don't think there is anything worse than Apathy!! Apathy kills!

I am going to go out on a limb and say that some of the responses to your question don't know or understand what Apathy is.

What is life worth living for if you can't feel emotion towards someone, something or anything for that matter! There was a study of serial murderers who's' apathy was astonishing! They were emotional zombies!!

I feel that more and more of society is being desensitized and Apathy is growing. They don't want to get involved. But with major disasters, people show that as a whole, they will do something to help. But why can't this be all the time instead of only when something bad happens.

Great Question!!! I hope you get more serious responses to it!

i think of abuse is the only absolute deal breaker that I actual have. each thing else you listed relies upon on the quantity and stipulations. Apathy is probably next on the record of least tolerable, and that i'd probably purely tolerate it if there is an exceedingly stable reason (they are dealing with a coarse time) and that i've got faith this is short-term. comparable element with selfishness, there are cases whilst someone needs to look after themselves and be selfish, back i will circulate with it if there's a real reason and short-term. cheating is a few thing which could actually be a deal breaker, yet there has been one party in my existence the place it become no longer. I gave this person yet another threat, so this is a few thing i will stay with as long as particular circumstances are met. all the different stuff i will artwork with, till it rather is like a loopy consistent trend without room for compromise.

Yes, Cruelty. Hate. Selfishness. Arrogance. Greed. Ignorance, Prejudice, etc. Apathy, I thought was bad when I was in my mid 20s, today, a lot older and wiser, I see the purpose of apathy. It's best to be indifference and not get involved. If you get involved often you'll end up frustrated and disillusioned. One needs to be tough and selfish to survive, or else you'll be exploited to the max. Apathy is a defensive mechanism to protect us from scams and greed. Sounds cynical, yet being cynical is on the same level as apathy. It's strictly for self preservation..

Apathy has got the world into the mess it is in today. Time for everyone to stop being morbid and depressed and get on and live life caring and sharing to the full.

With out a certain amount of apathy, we would be put in a position to be controlled by others through guilt. This can be very dangerous, and is why so many people fall into the clutches of bible thumping crazies.

You have hit a peeve point with me here--personally I believe apathy to be an epidemic and it is spreading rapidly--in answer to your direct question YES there are a number of other things that are worse than apathy when applied to the individual occurances of disorders--and apathy on an individual basis can be treated and successfully cured--but socialogically --once it sets in and takes hold--it becomes a MAJOR problem--and granted to those of us who are charged with a sense of go--do--be---the apathetic mind set is abhorent for it (to us) flys in the face of purpose !!!

Yes, the absolute insistence that YOUR opinion is more important than that of others which lets people think they have the right to shove their opinions and priorities down someone else's throats. Apathy on one subject may simply be nothing more than someone concentrating on other priorities at the time you bring a subject up. Judge not...

Not really, because apathy means that you are an empty shell. Even if you are intelligent, you're wasting your mind. Apathy makes people selfish and narcissistic.
