Everybody is ignorant, in one way or another, and that includes you. So, let me give you the reason for OUR ignorance.
1. Learning is difficult. An average child will have to see and hear the letter "a" about 38 times before she can do that on her own. The scientist with a P HD in nuclear physics and another doctorate in biochemistry, has only achieved mastery in a very limited sphere. How much does he know about, say, music?
2. Our time on Earth is very limited. By the time I begin to learn, I'm almost in the grave.
3. Thirdly, some of us refuse to accept concepts that cannot be obtained empirically. Such individuals fail to realize that science can take us so far and no further. Beyond that, one needs to step out in faith. Many atheists cannot step out of the monkey cage even when it is left wide open.
There may be some other reasons but these are the three that I can think of right now for OUR ignorance.

Ignorance means only a lack of knowledge. Everyone is ignorant on some topic or another. It's simply a fact of life. They haven't learned that information yet.

We can't all know every thing, we are all ignorant to somethings, some who are a little slow, think if they are smart about one thing they are just plain Smart. Not so even Einstein was ignorant to somethings. He did not know how to turn time back and not split the Atom (the Great Pandora's Box)

because its easier to remain iggnorant than to spend time and effort becoming informed. Its economics really, determined by the opportunity cost of a person.
