I was a metal shop junkie. We worked with a drill press, the furnace, anvils, and varnish. Prior and during that class, I attended a mechanical drawing course. It was fun.

Since my father had me working with him when he built anything, I had a great grasp of how woodshop worked. It was probably the most fun in school one can have.

Wood shop was kind of stressful to me. The very first day I remember the teacher warned us sternly about not getting our fingers chopped off with the saw machines. The drafting bored me, but I'm sure it helped me become more disciplined and left-brained. I did like making a wooden pen set, and we also made wooden cars. This was a required class, by the way, or I wouldn't have signed up for it.

We just had a general "shop" class. I took it and it was a lot of fun. I wasn't very good at it, but it was still a cool class.

I took wood shop. I made a book shelf for my mom and a whale shaped paper holder for my dad. We used different types of saws, sandpaper, and wood finishes.
