I think the next president will be a Republican, but the Congress will be controlled by Democrats.

Reason: Democrats don't have a good candidate for president. Republicans are screwed in the House races and possibly Senate.

If Hillary Clinton does not run, which would open up the Democratic primary, I think that Mark Warner has an excellent shot. He is the former governor of Virginia. He is a moderate Democrat, which makes him less appealing in the primary, but much more palitable in the general election. He'll have an opportunity to win swing voters. He will be able to court Wall Street because of his business background, can't be pinned down on a vote in regard to Iraq, and can't be accused of not having enough experience since President Bush was a 1 term governor. While governor of Virginia, Warner in herited a deficit. By the time he left office, there was a large surplus. He was elected Chairman of the National Governors Association too.

i really hope we have an american who will pop up out of the wood work and lead this great nation .
None of the politicians today need apply .
Find a simple man who has an above average I.Q.over 150 who is working and has a knowledge of how things really are in america.
SOMEONE who can add and subtract and has no real economic training other then balacing his household budget and paying most of his bills on time.
This is the average american who makes due with what he earns and can not figure out why we have inflation and his check seems to go just a little bit short of his expenses year after year.He woks hard 40 - 60 hrs each week and still his money does not buy him alot. The house he liked 10 years ago still is out of his price range and back then it only seemed a few dollars away but inflation raised the price and he is no better of today then 10 years ago un-less he works for the government then his pay and benifits increase as time goes by and he can afford the things in life that all americans dream about .americans feed to many mouths this way already and goverment needs a complete over-haul..ASK yourself one question why do all the good jobs have something to do with the government. THESE people who work for the government do not feel as though they get a fair shake . When infact they do better then any person working in the private sector who pays taxes that support them .they pay to much in taxes i laugh when i hear this government employees pay no taxes .you can not pay taxes when you are paid with taxes. that means we are taxed to much and i am tired of this.I think most americans are to and we need a leader lets find one good american to do this thankless job of running the nation

Republicans have NO candidate. WHO? Frist may have been involved in insider trading, plus he made those stupid remarks about Terry Schiavo. Cheney....please! DeLay corrupted a LOT of people who will go down in the near future.
Democrats will win, maybe Edwards, although I wish Feinstein would run. At present there is a culture of corruption, profiteering and ineptitude in Washington, and we ALL know who's running all three branches of government right now.

Whoever the next president is they have to do a better job than the one we already have. I heard rumors that Hillary Clinton is going to try to run for office. I say what the heck, she has already run the White House once!

After what the Bush Administration has done, do you really think someone else is going to make a "wonderful difference?" I'm waiting on the second comming of Christ to handle this mess.
