Most players try to exaggerate their injuries, which is called a simulation. But if the ref notices that the injury never occured, the player may receive a foul or even a yellow card.

Of course, It's the same as in a basketball game that the guy bumbed into fall on his fanny and glides 20 feet across the court, ouch Butt burns occur, but the other guy got the foul

It happens quite a lot. Some teams are worse than others, and some players are worse than others. And usualy it helps towards getting a foul, but sometimes, if it's too obvious, they can get in to trouble themselves

Not all the time, but certainly enough are actors to exaggerate for the sake of hoping for a call. Just like in basketball.

I don't think they fake injuries. I think the players exaggerate their injuries in hopes who getting the other players either carded, fouled or kicked out of the game.

yeah it happens. they do fall but it's a simple one then they say ok let me give it a try i might get a free kick or something. the bad news, it works 95% of times!

Yes they do (as with many other sports, by the way). "Diving" is not as prevalent as it used to be, but it still exists.
