Guns don't kill PEOPLE PEOPLE kill PEOPLE!!! Guns are not bad. They are used for hunting and protection. If there wasn't a single gun on earth people would still kill other people. They would just use another method. :0)

Guns are not bad. If it was mandatory for every single person over the age of 18 to carry a gun there would be very little crime.

The fact is that people have been killing other people since there were people. The oldest skeletal remains ever found, the cause of death was determined to me murder by severe head trauma (bashed about the back of the head).

Your experienced is profoundly limited. I've seen people who grew up with guns who believe that a gun is the solution to all problems. I've seen guns used in the heat of the moment when the situation absolutely did not rise to the level where a weapon was needed by any party involved in the dispute. I've seen guns involved in accidental shootings where the individuals monkeying around with them were experienced and trained gun handlers, but who nevertheless got careless. I know two cops, in fact, who "accidentally" shot someone else because they were screwing around with their service weapon.

It is not the gun, it is the jack a s s handling it that's the problem. And since you will never eliminate the human factor, all firearms need to be very closely monitored and controlled. Concealed carry should be illegal and all firearms kept in the home should be mandated to be kept unloaded and under lock and key, with ammo stored seperately under seperate lock and key.

The idea that everyone needs a gun for self-protection is a crock. Weapons training is actually a wise move for everyone who isn't physically or mentally incapable of being trained to handle them properly. But hauling a gun around like the mythological Western gunslinger is simply not appropriate.

And lastly: never, but NEVER, mix drinking with shooting, like Vice President "Deadeye Dick" Cheny did: that man should have been jailed and left there to rot! There was NO excuse for his pluperfect stupidity. There can BE no excuse! The man is scum! I hope the next time he fires a gun, it blows up in his face!

Guns are neutral - neither good nor bad. It is up to the person pulling the trigger to determine whether the result will be good or bad. The first rule of gun safety is ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED - treat them accordingly.

That's been my experience also. Gun owners also can quote the constitution pretty close to heart, unlike Justice Steavens

No they are not bad. I own several and I carry one a majority of the time (Colt 45 ACP) and am a very good shot.
