Im going to a zombie party and I don't want to make a mess all over the car and the bar and be sticky and gooey all night.

If you cook the corn syrup and food coloring longer, it will be soft and pliable without doing anything else to it. Use a regulare metel cooking thermometer like you use for meat. The mixture should get to the soft ball stage(like when making candy).
You can also add cream of tartar as a thickening agent or add corn starch. Be very careful when using the last 2 and only add a little at a time or it gets lumpy and the mixture will be too thick and hard to get from the pan.
Grease or spray PAM on the pan before putting in the syrup to make cleanup easier.

if you don't want to make a mess, it might be better to just paint food coloring on you, and not use the corn syrup.
It will be a few days before you can wash ALL of it off.


You could use ketchup and let it dry on you.

Please don't let any of the food coloring get in your eyes.

Try mixing in a slurry or paste of flour and water or corn starch and water.

Boil it down until it starts to thicken, then let it cool. COOL!!
