Samara Morgan is a character in the 2002 movie, The Ring. She is loosely based on Sadako Yamamura from the original Japanese Ringu series. A viral marketing campaign before the release of the film implied that she had been a real person but it was like the blair witch movies untrue

its a movie,even it it says it was based on a true story there would be only a miniscual amount of truth,

hmm let's think about this....NO she's not real! Everything that says she was real was just a marketing scheme.
