Why not cross the termites with humans? Then we can solve the animal exploitation problem at the same time.

Besides, who would go around the ocean collecting whale farts?

If we can potty train infants, we could probably teach them to fart in a paper sack.

No. Genetically they're way too far apart to produce offspring.

There are plenty of ways to help fix the problems the world is experiencing, we're just not using our resources properly or giving it enough priority. If we really wanted to, we could get rid of the problems completely.

no they may be too far apart genetically but there are bigger problems. First one lays eggs in the female and one is a mammal. second how are you going to mate them. and finally blue whales are thousands times bigger than then a termite.

I am sure that it is possible to splice certain traits of any species. The primary reason termites posses the ability you are referring to is based on the bacteria it has in its gut.
