no he will be safe

I went to a Slayer concert when I was 17. It was awesome. One of my best memories from High School. It was great. If he goes with a friend, then that might be good, but more for fun, than for safety. They put on a great show. I hope he enjoys it.

Also, I was in the mosh pit and near the stage as well. The only repercussion was ears that rang constantly for two days after.

I should note that I am very large white guy, so maybe that's why I was safe in the pit.

Concerts are generally safe. There always tends to be people in the crowd who will go out of their way to help you if you need it.
Slayer is fast hard music and like alot of other posters mentioned, there will be a mosh pit. As a parent the best thing you can do is not judge. Tell your son if he enters a pit, to stay moving and keep those arms swinging.

I would seriously think about sending someone older and bigger with him to keep him safe, those concerts can get out of hand at times and you might wanna make sure your sun is safe rather than hope he is. I have been to many concerts and I can say from personal experience that fights, mosh pits and or mosh circles can form anywhere, and I do mean anywhere. I hope that helped you make your decision.

ok...my sister went to a freaking foo fighters concert and got knocked down and hurt in the mosh pit (why one was started at that concert is anybody's guess) So yea, somebody said it but just warn him to stay away from the mosh pit or he could get seriously hurt. Some guys are crazy violent and the music makes them more pumped up.

I was going to heavy metal concerts at 15. Even if he jumps into the middle of the pit, the worst that will happen is he'll be sore the next day. If you trust your son's judgement, then believe that he'll know to get out if it get's too rough for him.

Well the pit area can be rough and yes if you are in the pit you can get hurt. I have seen teens at those concerts and they usually don't want any part of the pit.

He'll probably be ok and love you for letting him off the leash.

No, it's all about the music and getting pumped up and having a good time. Just stay out of the mosh pit and bring ear plugs.
