i think specially if it is like a world cup, you should have your own countrys coach, coaching your own country, then if you win then you can be proud of your country.
but if the coach is from another country then you can thank that other country for helping you win the cup.

I agree its your country competing against other country's. Your organization should be made up of people from your country. It is also about pride for your home country.

When you are a coach of any country, you are being consider one of the best in the world and you are in display for the coaching market, and this market is very small:
There are only 207 countries associated with the FIFA, so to get to be a coach of one of this countries, is a very dificult and competitive job: there are many candidates and 207 positions, and also you not only have to be one of the best you also need to be perceive as one of the best by any country.
If a country doesn't have at least one of those 207 coaches, it will have to go to the open market to get it. How high is the probability that a country has at least one of those coaches? In some countries it could be ZERO in others it could be very high (ie 2006 world cup the countries with the highest probability are Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Holland, Sweden, Croatia, France- there are more than one coach of this nationality).
@ if you want to excel in any area, you need the best .... and in any sports that means if you want to be the best you need the best coach, so you could have in the future the best players, the best coaches and be one of the best in the world.
@ When a country is beginnig in a sport or doesn't have good coaches, that country has to look in the market for the best coach it can afford.
You should have in mind, that:
# At the end, the most important thing in a country's team, is that all the players are citizens of the country.
# You could have the best coach, but it's up to you to do and be the best.
# Every coach is always proud of his pupils achievement, he doesn't think I am from a diferent country, he only thinks: we as a team, we are the best, and this is also true for the players.
# The world says: YYYY Country is the champion (they don't remember whom was the coach). They don't say YYYY County is the champion because "John Smith" from ZZZZZ Country was the coach.
You don't need to say thanks to the other country (remember, if he is not their coach, is because they didn't wan't him). To the only person you need to say thanks is the the team of the country, and that means first to the players and after to the coaching staff.

I think foreign coaches are cool. Football doesn't know human boundaries.

then you need to also ask yourself if players orignally from another country should play for another too...their is quite a few as well ...
