Have you suffered a loss? Our own death is not easy to accept, but that's because we are still alive and don't want to end what we have. Other's death is difficult, maybe more because the dead have the release of knowing what comes next, after death. We are left, mourning our loss, still not knowing what is to come.
I don't subscribe to the thoughts posted above: Who wants to be old and decrepit longer. If we didn't die, we wouldn't grow, we wouldn't be born, we wouldn't age, we'd just be and be and be and be. We havent' been given immortality. I don't think the human mind is able to understand why. It is interesting to wonder why, though. It could serve to inspire a person to create something that would help the rest of us humans to understand a little better. Maybe just enough to ease the burning desire to know why.
If you have suffered a loss and you think you may need help, talk to someone. Tell them how you feel. It will help your feelings ease if you share it with someone. You can deal with what is happening, but you may need to ask for some help, if only for a little bit.

Nothing really ever ends. More time just goes by. Memories are eternal. Love is eternal. Death is only physical. Heaven and hell are both real and the spirit is immortal. What are you fretting about?

Well, think about it!
a, It would get incredibly boring living forever since hardly anything new comes around, ever.
b, we would all sort of have to stop reproducing since the world is a fairly crowded place with people dying, already. And would you really want to miss out on all the fun reproduction can be? ;-)

The old need to make way for the young. The older I get the more I think we should reverse this trend.

I think that the part of us that matters most goes on forever. Of course, this is not the physical, visible part.

Because this is the way things are supposed to be, my friend. If we were to live forever, we would live forever. But we cannot live forever, therefore, we will not live forever.
