"Andy Reid was part of the vaunted coaching staff Mike Holmgren assembled in Green Bay during the 1990s.

When the Packers lost the 1998 NFC Wild Card Game in San Francisco, the Philadelphia Eagles seized the opportunity. Reid was named head coach of the "Birds" in January 1999. On his shoulders was the task of rebuilding a team that had suffered an NFL-worst 3-13 record in 1998.

Through wise draft choices that surprised fans and experts alike, such as Syracuse QB Donovan McNabb, Reid rebuilt the Eagles into a consistent winner. Since 2000, the Eagles have been the NFL's winningest team. And on January 23, 2005, after three straight shortcomings, Reid led the Eagles to the NFC Championship over Atlanta. It would be the Eagles' first Super Bowl appearance in 24 years."
