ice is water frozen. you can see through water, so you can see through ice. snow, however, is made of ice crystals that lump together. all of the lumps put together gives off that white color, and makes snow.

Snow is more solidified and dense so its clear,and ice is white because of the structure and formulation.

Because snow is made of invidividual crystals which reflect light and ice isn't.

snow has air in it. ice has less air. if you notice parts of the ice are white, that is the air.
