Perhaps in military terms the USA may win..or perhaps China..but spiritually the whole world would loose.. People would start to fear which nation would fight which nation?...it could spark a nuclear war or worse a new world order or political power struggles...most importantly mankind should not be fighting each other but the enviromental issue of GLOBAL Warming,,
IT IS PREDICTED THAT WITHIN EIGHT YEARS MAN WILL BE UNABLE TO REVERSE THE DAMAGE OF GLOBAL WARMING.
The fact is The USA and China are the WORLDs are amongst the WORST OFFENDING COUNTRYs.. too much polution and Green House gases are produced by both China and the USA...
So lets hope they will work something out to benefit both countrys and the rest of the world..

For mere numbers - China would get our collective butts. They've got like what a zillion people over there? Also, I'm sure after being treated like crap by their leaders for years they've got a lot of hostility built up and did you ever fight anyone that ticked off? Not a pretty picture. Finally, I'm sure that quite a few know some advanced fighting techniques that would put us away. Wished I could be more optimistic... but sorry.

China and the United states would suffer mutual annhialation in a nuclear exchange.
The Us may be victorious on the high seas initially. But in a land battle. we are severely outnumbered by troop strengths.
Technologically,China has increased her capabilities greatly of late and they are in possession of much the same rescources as the US.
Mutual destruction is the result no matter how you cut it.
