"Peace lily will flourish in almost any well-drained potting mix. Soil should be kept moist but not soggy. The soil should dry out between waterings. Excessive drying out can cause the plant to wilt and the leaves and edges to yellow. When watering, use water that is at room temperature."

Gentle watering is best. Poke your finger in the soil and when it's just a little moist, add a little water - 1/2 cup for a standard sized plant. Check on it weekly.

best to just look at the leaves--if they`re starting to droop a little, and don`t look as shiny as they did just a few days ago, water the plant. peace lily (also called a "spathyphylum") will always start to droop when it needs water. yellow leaf tips can indicate overwatering, underwatering, or even too much of the wrong chemicals in the water you`re using.

If it's a Spathyphyllum? don't overwater it as it will soon rot and die. Water only when the soil is dry. If the leaves droop, this is a sign that it is too dry. If the leaves turn yellow on the ends and the soil is wet, this means that you could be overwatering.
