In my journey, if drives are incorrectly set to comprehend or slaves then the workstation would not boot up in any respect. Yours does so I doubt it is the situation. whilst the workstation boots are you able to "see" the force with it particularly is assigned letter in explorer? if so, then living house windows thinks each thing is okay. i do no longer think of a motive force might make the device crash in this type - in all likelihood purely the force. it would desire to be the means cable to the force is dodgy. i've got had that and force disappears yet something of the workstation maintains to be alive. i'm greater in contract with the shortcoming of means argument right here, yet an trouble-free attempt may well be to unplug yet another force in case you have one spare and notice if the device maintains to be up.

Well what type of windows are you using in your computer? because like if it is a winXP then you won't have a problem with that and also winME because they are plug and play just try to check on the add hardware and do that if it will work

you may have to go into the bios and enable the "A" drive....also if the light on the A drive is always lit up, you have the ribbon cable in backwards, an easy mistake to make
