Because the Canadian national team failed to get through the CONCACAF second qualifying fase, finishing fourth and last in their group, thus not even getting through to the 3rd and last qualifying fase, whose three best teams (and a fourth, if they qualify via a play-off against the fifth-best Asian team, which Trinidad & Tobago did, against Bahrain) of the group of 6 qualify for Germany

there isn't a Canadian team playing in the World cup because they didn't make it to the finals they weren't good enough , they didn't meet the expectations

Canada hasn't finished in the top three standings in the CONCACAF group, so it's not in the World Cup.
