Lilith was the first wife of Adam but wanted to be equal because they were both made by god and they quarreled over sexual relations and why Adam was always on top. This is why Eve was made from Adam's rib, so they would not be equal. Lilith left Eden and went to the Red Sea and later met up with Cain after he was expelled from Eden for killing Abel.

Lilith, Legendary Early Woman

Born: ?
Birthplace: The Garden of Eden
Died: ?
Best Known As: In Hebrew lore, the first mate of Adam
According to Hebrew lore, Lilith was the original partner of Adam, the world's first man. Lilith and Adam argued -- some legends say she was too proud to submit to Adam's wishes -- and Lilith departed Eden, where she was succeeded as Adam's mate by Eve. In other ancient legends Lilith is considered a demon or a mother of demons, and is supposed to haunt desolate places. The name of Lilith is mentioned only once in the Bible, in Isaiah 34:14, where she is listed along with hyenas and jackals as those who dwell in the ruins of God-forsaken Edom. Late in the 20th century she became a symbol of female empowerment, giving her name to Lilith Fair, the travelling women's music festival organized by Sarah McLachlan.

'Lilith' is the name of the shrewish ex-wife of Dr. Frasier Crane on the TV sitcom Frasier; she was played by actress Bebe Newirth.

In the legendary sitcom "Cheers", Lilith is wife of Fraser. Fraser went on to spawn a spinoff (and a child with Lilith). Lilith then became the exwife of Fraser and the butt end of many jokes on the show, "Fraser."

Lilith is supposedly the first wife of Adam who, refusing to obey him because she believed herself to be the equal of Adam and not his HELPMEET, walked away from the Garden of Eden. (Please note that she was created from the dust of the earth, and Eve was created from Adam's rib.)
