i have a laptop with no internet. I want to get internet but i need it wireless. What do i have to buy to internet and what companies are good ?

If your laptop doesn't have built in 802.11, you're going to need a Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter to plug into an available USB port. This will make your laptop wireless capable.

Make sure your USB ports are 2.0 and not 1.1. Depending on the age of your latop, it may not be able to handle the 2.0 adapter.

you should find out if your computer has a wireless card first. If it doesn't then you may not be able to get wireless internet at all.

just buy an ethernet cable and hook it up in your dorm, that should work. if you live at home, just buy regular internet and a router if you want it to be wireless. if it doesnt matter just buy the ethernet cable and hook it up.
