First, run antispyware program like Ad-aware or Spybot. They are free downloads.
Then, check to see how much space is free on your hard drive by clicking the My Computer icon, right clicking on the C Drive and going into properties. If it is below 10%, you will need to delete some of the files you do not need off your hard drive. You can move them to a floppy or CD. Windows needs room to run.
Next, defrag the hard drive by clicking the My Computer icon, right clicking on the C Drive and going into properties. Click on the Tools tab. Click the Defragment Now button. It may take a few hours to run if the drive is badly fragmented.
If all that does not work, you may need to purchase additional memory for the computer.

I recommend you should reformat your computer. That means to delete EVERYTHING (viruses, your Aunt May's picture on her trip to Hawaii, music, favorite websites) but you start out new fresh and clean. To do this you need a windows home/professional CD and do a fresh clean installation.
reformat - fast, clean, just like new and you'll have to reinstall all your drives, programs and re-save your pictures/music.
Second way, if your willing to do the long and hard way.. then install a Virus and Anti-spyware program (virus- Go to Mcafee.com or Norton and they have trial subscription Antispyware- well if u have yahoo you can use the yahoo antispyware program on your yahoo toolbar )
Then run the scanners to remove the harmful spy ware and viruses on your computer (spyware cause the slowdown, pop ups while viruses causes the freezes, restarts and etc.)

Your harddrive might be full. Try doing a disk cleanup and a defragment of the drive. Also if that page has adware or spyware, it will slow you down and freeze your computer up.You can check your harddrive available space by going to start and then to my computer. Once my computer is open go to your harddrive and point your mouse over the drive, do not click, it will popup and tell you what space your harddrive has on it and what is left on it. If you need further help, please go to www.geekstogo.com. Their service is free. They can help with anything. Good Luck

Your PC has a bug. If it had been working fine in the past, you can restore it to a previous state. Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools and system restore. Follow the instructions. You will not lose any documents that you have already saved. Hope this helps
