EVER??? Thats a tough one. I think it depends on what you define as funny. Different comedians have different styles. But I will say a comedian almost everyone thinks is funny is Dave C. or Chris Rock.

Richard Pryor was sooooooooooo funny! And, he chartered the way for so many other comedians out there. Also, I think Eddie Murphy had some great stand-up shows. The story he told about his mom being on welfare and his dad being an alcoholic was too funny. (you ain't got no Icccccccccce-cream, you got no Icccccccc-cream, cause your mom's on weeeeelllfare and your dads and al-co-hooooooool-ic) He learned a lot from Pryor. Also, I know it's silly (a guilty pleasure), I love to watch the old Gallagher shows.

Mike Birbiglia! I saw his special on Comedy Central, and he was the funniest, most original performer I've ever seen!

Bob Newhart Rocks! He wins for dry humor
Jerry Seinfield and Jeff Foxworthey. I like a lot of them, but here is a fair and variable cross section.
