I think it's cute at the beginning when the players hold hands with the kdis (^__^) I see it as them sending a message that children are the future. Also, the players need to play clean and have good attitudes so that they can be role models for the youth of tomorrow....

Kids are consider to be lucy charms in soccer field. It's just a traditional thing.

it keeps the kids beside them and prevents the kids from freezing up and stopping or wandering off.
