Concerned, but not worried. Why? One acronym - SARS. Remember that was going to wipe out a lot of people just a few years ago. Now you rarely hear about it. Call me naive or curiously optimistic... but I think all this hoo ha is to get all of us up on our guard to take what steps we can to be aware of it and protect ourselves the best we can.

There have been NO confirmed cases of H5N1 in Canada as of yet.
You must be talking about the West Nile virus.
And even when H5N1 does show up, the only time you really need to worry is when the virus evolves to the point that it can be transmitted from animal to human.
Thats when the pandemic will hit. Be prepared.

We should be. I've been reading that we will have bird flu and we should stock up on non parishable items. There was a report on one of the news station recently with the Surgeon General stating that there will definately be a problem because they do not have enough vaccine. So don't be arrogant and think because we are the USA we will be exempt from it.

You shouldn't be worried because if you get in contact with birds that have the bird flu, thats when it gets dangerous. No worries, just don't touch any birds.

nope i dont have contact with birds. the WHO has had a while to prepare for this and i think the US has to. I would like to think that there is a plan in place. if not my plan is to stay home and wear masks like the asians if i have to go out.

If those Canadians die then I'm all set because we won't have to put with people like Jim Carey and Pamela Anderson any more.
