you mean like this question? haha.
I don't see this being too serious.

it's because on the nonsence stuff, people can say whatever they want and bs without having to worry, no one will notice or criticize. but if someone answers a serious question and has no idea what they're talking about, yeah, people are going to make fun. plus, no one feels like they're being judged. it's easier to answer the stupid stuff rather than the serious stuff. because not everyone can relate when it comes to the serious things in life. but when it comes to nonsense, well, that's what we humans are best at, lol. it makes sense to me.

The people that ask the nonsense questions (the majority) are too stupid to research anything and everything. Since they make up most of the website and ask most of the questions, many serious answers are overwhelmed and hidden in the masses and go unanswered because the majority didn't see a "lol" anywhere and decided it was much too advanced for them to spend a couple minutes Googling to possibly help.

Because people, by nature, are lazy, opportunistic, and take the path of least resistance. In Yahoo! Answers, this translates into finding questions requiring minimal thought and minimal typing. This, in turn, leads to a rapid accumlation of points, which leads to being ahead. Sadly, it seems that people in this day and age care very little about how they get ahead or even if they get there unfairly. Hope this helped.

Because lots of people have a nonsensical answer to the nonsense questions. The serious questions can only be answered by people who actually know something about the topic. Best wishes

Because a lot of people would like others to think for them instead of taking the time to do their own thinking. Consequently, most people do not know how to think. It is very easy, however, to be ignorant.
