people do that because it's easier to hurt someone else than to suffer thru their own hurt and pain. it's wrong and selfish, but it's a fact of life

It surely hurts a lot, I know it does! Everyone makes mistakes, as you say,but if someone comes up with remarks especially to hurt you or humiliate you infront of others, the best thing to do is to appear unaffected,as if you really don't give it a damn. However, you have to be really concerned about what the remarks are so that you can amend yourself to the better. I am sure you can. In this way, the person(s) rubbing salt on your wound will stop nagging you (as apparently you don't care) while you will never be nagged in the future( as you will work hard to amend yourself to the better). Best of luck! You really gonna need some luck

I've always wondered about that type of people... Why do they do that anyway? Everytime, it hurts like there's no tomorrow... and after they say something that opens your wounds and makes you cry... they wonder "why can't you get over it?" Hmm... what is supposed to be said to them in that case?
To be honest, whenever some people do that to me... I just ignore the comments and their stunned looks that I don't want to discuss this any further. Just how in the Heaven's name they think I'm supposed to heal in any way, when they're always there to bring up everything and hurt me all over again by reminding me? ... As soon as I start ignoring them, they eventually leave me alone and rarely bring up my past mistakes, even though they do that occasionally in an argument... hmm, I wonder why?... However, there are some things that I just wish to talk to someone about without them criticizing or judging me for my mistakes / faults / wrong doings... If they just listen to me, I'll start to heal and eventually forgive and forget about it...
My Husband is that perfect way. He's loving, caring and understanding, and he is a wonderful listener. He's always there whenever I need him. It is so fantastic to have someone who actually believes in you, trusts you, and is always there to help you and guide you through any problems you might have without ever judging you in any way. I love him for everything he is :)

people like to bring down others because it makes them feel good. It's a sad thing, but thats what happens. Try to ignore them and don't fall to there level. When you do good, even when someone does something bad to you, it makes you look better, and the one(s) causing the problem start to feel bad.

ever heard of the term "crab mentality?" when a crab goes up, the crabs below it pulls it down...
i think the reason why they bring other people down is because they are JEALOUS -- maybe you had something that they didn't have, and they don't want other people to see your accomplishment, so they bring you down -- they tell other people your "bad side" it's like saying "see? she's not perfect at all" -- but in reality, they're bringing you down -- to bring themselves up! what a sleazy way to win. it's almost like cheating. instead of competing the clean way by working harder, instead they pull you down.
these people are selfish and self-centered -- they want things to be all about them! they don't want other people's attention on somebody else who's better than them. they cannot accept that.
if you have friends who are bringing you down, leave them. true friends don't do that -- they support. you.

people do this because they havent got any thing else to do. to rub salt in the wounds when it is not wanted. people who do this have a low self esteem about them selves. they have to do this to people to make them feel and look better. dont stoop to there level ignore then as much as you can. prove to them it doesnt bother you. be strong. the more you ignore it the less they will do it because in the end they will get bored. just give it time it will stop.

It helps them to feel more secure about their faults if they can bring down others with their faults.
