Surely the question should read Why when England is so small is it still better than America?
The answer is that our governing bodies listen to the public more & unlike US Government do not feel the need to keep us all scared of our own shadows all the time.
Also, we do not have guns of all sizes available to anyone over the shop counter. Therefore, while there is a lot of crime here, it is not as bad as in USA.
FINALLY, YOU MUST MEAN GREAT BRITAIN & NOT ENGLAND SINCE THIS ISLAND CONSISTS OF MORE THAN ONE COUNTRY.
Our newspapers still report murders wherease in America they are so commonplace that they don't get a mention.

Why is it that people from England don't know how to write properly ? No capitals, and you ask- - how is England so small ?
Answer, because it doesn't have more area.
Better that America ?? In what way ? I like England very much and would never say anything uncomplimentary about it, so when you say England is better than America, at least, tell us in what way - - - in your mind.

Just because something is small doesn't mean it can't be better. But to answer your question, maybe they have a better Government. I am not sure. Maybe the people in England volunteer more and help out. Maybe. But one thing I know for sure is that being small doesn't mean you can't be good.

I like antiques and history.
D. Granted, they don't have G.W.B.

either, do they?

There are two flaws in your argument. The first is that bigger is better and the second is that England is better than the USA.
I don't think England is better -- nor do I think it is worse. It is just different. There are some things about the UK that are better than the US (music in the 1960s, beer) and some things about the US that are better (have you ever tried English food?).

Better at what? soccer? 'American' men have too much testosterone for that, that's why we really don't care about it. We are leaders not followers.
If you REALLY thought it was better you wouldn't be comparing it now would you? I as an 'American' feel I live in the greatest country in the world. Even if we do have our fair share of problems. I don't feel the urge to compare my country with another. Why should I? It's kind of like comparing your mansion with someone else's cardboard box home. You feel sorry for them, but really there's no comparison. *s*
