The question really should be, 'if Americans are so stupid, why is the rest of the world envying and mimicking American culture, especially culture from the most shallow areas - Los Angeles, Miami, New York'

The answer is simple. All the people of the entire world are stupid. It's just that Americans are at the top of the list. The least stupid of the rest.

You are generalising this and you are showing your true self by making a statement like this.
BTW, I am not an American. But I get infuriated when people point finger at some group and say "oh, they all are such.... and ....such......"
It is rude, crude and socially unacceptable to call anyone names.
Some very rash statements are made here by others as well. It has become increasingly fashionable to bash Americans. I think it comes from jealousy. Figures do not lie: statistically speaking Americans excel in many areas, such as sports - business - scientific research and so on.
Therefore, inadequacy of ones own self comes out in statements such as this.

Not all of us are. Unfortunately the United States is in decline intellectually, with many people not recieving proper education and blaming others for their ignorance.
I think the US accomodates too much, thereby really smart kids are starved for a proper education, as they are always held back by the other kids in the class.
The US no longer values intellectualism and accomplishment, they honor and value celebrities who have accomplished nothing and use each other for gain. Thereby, we have people who think they deserve to be rich for doing nothing in particular, and treat each other poorly because that is what they think is cool.

Americans are indeed stupid for electing George W Bush as president went he relentlessly takes the country in dirty wars. i.e. Iraq. No need for the invasion, just the greed for oil.
However . . . I like Americans personally, the women are pretty sexy and the country is a nice place go (cept San Francisco) never go there!
