Just bought a house and the previous owner left the appliances. However, she didn't empty out the food in the frig. and had had her electricity shut off for who knows how long. We cleaned it out throughly, put in odor eaters, vacuumed out the fans in back, and turned up the cooler. Walked away for a week and maggots are back again. The smell was better but is getting bad again now that the maggots are back. GROSS! How do you get rid of these?

Where are the maggots coming from? Unless there where some fly eggs you didn't get scrubbed off I don't see how maggots could reenter, especially if you removed all the food etc. I'd spray the inside with huge amounts of bleach and let it soak....Or go buy a new one

Buy a new frig. even a used one! If not, bleach the heck out of the interior and use armor hammer baking soda to absorb the smell. Just open a box and put it in the frig. Don't sprinkle any of it out, just put the box in the back of the frig.

Honestly. I would probably go buy another fridge. Screw cleaning that up. And that smell, unless you like bleach the entire inside, it will never leave ... ever!

Get a new fridge, you'll eat safer for it.
