Not so good fiction. It is interesting to see how many love and hate him now. In my opinion, the books are nothing extraordinary.

I think the book was a very entertaining intellectual adventure story. Although Dan Brown played fast and loose with historical facts, he raised some provocative issues. Chief among these is probably the subject of Mary Magdalene.

Mary is emblematic of the treatment of women in the church; a faithful disciple who was characterized as a prostitute and and regarded only for her presumed repentance. Raising her to the status of wife of Jesus is probably going too far, but it effectively emphasizes the point that women played a larger role in the early church than later churches are willing to admit.

The book called attention to the fact that writings that some early Christians regarded as scripture were left out of the Bible. While these various gnostic texts were not exactly secret, many people were not aware of them.

I feel this book has done a valuable service in making people think about these issues.

I read the book, very riveting, but good detective story. Dan Brown said its Fiction, and I believe it is fiction. Of course, I also believe most of what I read in the daily papers and hear on the news is partly fiction too. I know what I see, that's all.

No, he's really genius!
Not that I believe in the story or anything, but in terms of a writer, he's really a genius.
I watched the movie as an entertainment only, coz I know the story is just a fantasy.

The novel was too fast moving. Too much activity for 24 hours. The ideas were kind of interesting in a make- believe historical way. My world hasn't been changed by it.

I read the book and thought it was an entertaining work of fiction.
I don't understand the controversy over the religious aspects of the book and why people can't enjoy as a good work of fiction.

I think it was a pretty good read, but I took most of his "factual" descriptions in the book witth a grain of salt. It is not an educational text, it is entertainment. He is trying to sell books, not teach a history course,. and one way to do that is to be controversial, and what better way to do that then to question the churches view of Jesus. All in all it was entertaining, but not as earth shaking as I think most people are trying to make it out to be.

this is my opinion......to tell u the truth i absolutely don't recommend it ...it's almost like even though it's supposed to be fictional, some people actually believes it, and that also help people to not believe in their religion anymore....the da vinci code i think degrades christ and his lifestyle, what happened in his time and also badmouths him and that's just wrong. i mean i can't do anything about it because not everybody opinions are going to be alike or believe in the same. no one knows for sure what happened in christ's time ...so you can't really go around assuming.

first of all the book is pretty good and in my opinion whatever written in the book is not false if not entirely true. The portion that we have forgotten the WOMAN WORSHIP is true in my opinion. you can see it in today's world. the woman's were given a secondary place in every religion. whatever happens now a days but still the woman were fighting for there true place in the society.
