WHY DO WE AS PEOPLE CHOOSE TO MAKE THE DECISIONS THAT WE DO? WHAT IS THE DEAL?

im not sure what your asking by what we do, but i can tell you that our mental priorites are out of line. not everyone knows or admits to it but most humans are tramatically injured mentally as we age. and with that we make all of our decisions base on what others around us have done or what everyone around us will accept. we live in an encased nation in that although we are free, our minds will not let us do what we want because it will not be accepted. we make most of our decisions based on the fear of "what if" and "failure". those who want to become doctors usually end up doing something else because of fears such as "what if im not smart enough", so they settle for an average career never getting exactly what they want.

hmmm, a very phylosophical question... I would answer it this way:
We make decisions because we want to achieve something or resolve a problem. That is the basic objective. For example, if you arrived at an junction that has 2 roads leading to your destination, you need to decide which route to take.
How we make the "right" decision will depend on yourself (mood, physical ability etc), social pressure, physical environment etc. In the example above, you may decide to take the longer route because the shorter route is bumpy (environment factor) or you are in the mood to enjoy the scenary on the longer route...
The deal is: we make decisions that yield that best results to achieve the goals.

Ou decisions are being affected by several factors. These can be family, finance, feelings, life, livelihood, nature, etc. Considering all the factors whatever our brain finds correct is being chosen by us and that is we do. And all that was why we do it.
