allthough bt internet claim they offer 4mb download speeds ,it all depends how far you are from your nearest telephone exchange,so in theory they ar,nt conning you,you are just unlucky like me,that you live so far from a exchange
i have had bt broadband for 3 years and have allways downloaded at a speed of 121k per second, theres just nothing can be done unless i move which is out the question
if you are able to get NTL,you have a better chance of getting decent download speeds as they use cable, for example i have a pentium 4 1gb ram ,and you see the speeds ive been getting
my friend who is on NTL,i sold him my old pentium 2 ,128mb ram ,and he gets 500k+ download speed, now wheres the justice in that
changing to another isp who use a bt line wont make a difference, you need to migrate to someone like NTL or bulldog(by cable and wireless)
good luck

Yes, but when they get their finger out, hopefully we will get the 8 Meg. I have been getting between 2 - 6 Meg but mostly 2 - 3 Meg.
