Like if you are from California, you are expected to have a tan, and say words like "awesome", "dude" and "totally". OR have a "hollywood" lifestyle. I don't fit into either and i live in California.
Where are you from? What sterotypes? And do you fall into any of them?

I'm from California too, Orange County. I'm half Mexican. I don't feel comfortable with some white people because of comments I hear and their stereotypes about Mexicans. I look white so they talk to me in ways I know they wouldn't if they knew half my family is Mexican. Now at my work most people know so they don't say these things anymore. Now OC has so many more stereotypes with the tv show. The people here don't all look like the ones in that show. (Where are the Mexicans anyway? None are allowed in Newport after 7 pm. Only gardeners are allowed in the day time). Another stereotype is that every Latino here is from Mexico and that El Salvador is IN Mexico. My students think it's the same place and so do the adults!!! My students also think that Santa Ana is dirty (if you watch Arrested Development, that's the city where the housekeeper's family lives). There are million dollar residences in Santa Ana though. I could go on and on :-P

well I live in a small town in Texas and everyone around thinks we're all a bunch of racists and no I don't think I fall into that catagory however I do find that sterotype to be correct for the majority of this town~~~(all white town of about 300)

I live in San Francisco near The Castro. Gays and Lesbians are very stereotyped

I 'm European and live now in the South and I have problems with racism and down right stupidity with some people. I don't fit in for sure.

i live in fort mill south carolina and i used to live in charlotte nc and i'm black and i skateboard and listen to heavy metal and ppl hate me because they say black ppl are supposed to listen to rap and act ghetto and that's what the black ppl say. and i wear vans and stuff and i'm "supposed" to wear airforces and stuff.
