Would help if you posted the url. Assume you're talking about Google organic listings. Most likely there's something about your site that Google found "spammy" or otherwise offensive. There's lots of bad / outdated advice out there about SEO, be careful. Remember: Google's goal is to make it real, honest, useful, human friendly results. If you try to "game" the system eventually you'll get blown out.

Other websites made changes to pull themselves UP on the lists... often this is done by paying sites like Google to be put up higher on their rankings.

In the simplest terms, other sites became more popular. You have to have key words in search engines to keep it on the first page. It is out there, but perhaps in the greater than 50th page. Hope this helps.

When you do yoru own website you can associate it with keywords that will help you to find it better and faster. You should add more keywords to help people find it easier or what you are advertising.

When they reindex the listings, everything changes. It is all about the keywords.
